10th Ave Productions: A 4th animated feature film on the way
Despite the constraints imposed by the pandemic, the fourth animated feature by the company 10th Ave Productions, Félix and the treasure of Morgäa, is going to the post-production stage, under the supervision of director Nicola Lemay, of screenwriter Marc Robitaille and producer Nancy Florence Savard.
“Our team, under the direction of Yann Tremblay, completed most of the work just before the appearance of the first cases of COVID-19 in Quebec. From the first days of the crisis, we reconfigured our workplaces so that the members of our team can continue in complete safety (…) “, indicates in a press release the executive producer of the studio 10e Ave Animation, Jean-François Tremblay.
The “last adjustments” to production were made in telework mode. “Our partners also have the capacity to continue their activities remotely, despite the closure of their premises. The editing of the film’s animated sequences, under the direction of René Caron, of Studio Élément, is almost complete. ” The integration of the special effects sequences, the fruit of the work of the Montreal studio nGenious, and the colorization signed Éric Denis, of Studio Élément, will be completed shortly, before going to the stage of sound design (Studio Expression) and of musical composition (Studio Global).
Despite the “worrying situation”, Nancy Florence Savard, founder of 10e Ave Productions, whose offices are located in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, “stays the course” and intends to pursue the development of its youth content more than ever, by this period “when families are in great need of entertainment”.
“We currently have several animation projects ready to go into preproduction and even production, including four feature films, a TV series of 52 short humor films without dialogue and five Christmas specials.” Among these projects, Béluga Blues should begin its preproduction in July.
“We will do everything possible under the circumstances to maintain the jobs of our artists and keep in touch with our customers and investors, in order to provide quality and entertaining content during this period of global insecurity.”
Among the other projects, the medico-social documentary To keep all his head , on concussions, which is at the financing stage and whose broadcasting is planned for next year.
An important player in the 3D animation feature film in Canada, 10th Avenue Productions, has become known in recent years with La légende de Sarila , Le coq de St-Victor and Simon: Mission Yéti . Its productions have been selected in several international festivals and have been sold in more than 170 countries.
