China urged the United States and Canada to “clarify” the arrest Meng Wanzhou, CFO of Huawei.
Meng Wanzhou, CFO of Huawei, was arrested when transferring between flights in Vancouver December 1 and could face extradition to the US. The representative of the press service of the foreign Ministry of China told reporters: “the Detention without any reason violates human rights. We have made a solemn Declaration in Canada and the United States, requiring that both parties immediately explained the reason of the arrest and immediately release the detainee to protect the legal human rights courts”.
The arrest of Ms. Meng coincided with a troubled period in U.S.-China relations. Countries involved in a trade war, which imposes on the goods of each other’s duties in the billions of dollars.
The Ministry of justice of Canada confirmed the date and place of the arrest, Ms. man, and added: “It is prepared for extradition to the United States.” The Minister said that he could not say more because Ms. man in court banned publication of case details.
