COVID-19: Outaouais crosses the milestone of 50 confirmed cases
The Outaouais region has 12 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total to 50 cases in the region.
C ette increase of 32% is higher than 21% observed at the provincial level, but Ottawa remains less affected than other similar sized regions.
On Monday, the Outaouais Integrated Health and Social Services Center reported that five of its employees were infected with COVID-19.
For all of Quebec, six new deaths were recorded, for a total of 31 victims of this pandemic.
In his daily press briefing, Prime Minister François Legault said Tuesday that 732 new cases have been confirmed, for a total of 4,162 people infected. Of the lot, 286 patients are hospitalized, including 82 in intensive care.
Almost half (48%) of cases in Quebec are in the Montreal region. The metropolis now has 1991 patients who have contracted COVID-19.
