End of the ski season in Quebec
Quebec ski enthusiasts will have to wait until next winter before hitting the slopes again, while the coronavirus pandemic is forcing ski resorts to stop their activities a few weeks before the usual season ends.
The Association des stations de ski du Québec (ASSQ) confirmed on Sunday that activities will not resume this season.
“All owners and operators of ski resorts are severely affected by the current situation. Beyond the financial losses and layoffs caused by the precipitous end of our winter activities, we understand that it is all the communities that are impacted by the crisis, “said the president of the ASSQ council, Jean -Michel Ryan.
The association specifies that skiers who have paid for unused products, such as ski lessons, will have the option of being reimbursed or using it next season. The ASSQ also calls on the population to “respect the closed mountain instructions and not to try to access the ski areas”.
