On 21 may, the EU Council adopted a Directive banning in Europe of some disposable plastic products that have the environmental equivalent.
Now plastic plates, Cutlery, straws for drinking, holders for balloons and disposable cotton swabs prohibited until 2021. Also, the EU has introduced measures to reduce the use of plastic products, which are often clog up the environment.
By 2029, 90% of used plastic bottles will be sorted. By 2025, composed of plastic bottles should be at least 25% of the material that can be converted. By 2030 such material in the bottle should not be less than 30%.
It is noted that the first country in the world that have banned plastic utensils, was France in 2016. Last year the European Commission proposed to ban plastic utensils throughout Europe.

As reported by the portal Znayu Ukrainian engineers have developed an environmentally safe film for the packing of goods. It will replace plastic bags.
The portal also Znayu wrote that paper bag up to 40 times more harmful to the environment than plastic (when processing) and the organic bag of cotton is 20 thousand times more harmful.
