No one had suspected that Elizabeth would be Queen.

But after her older brother Edward gave up the throne, she became first in line to the throne.
Even at 9 years old, Elizabeth had excellent manners.
A year after the outbreak of the Second world war, 14-year-old Elizabeth sent her first radio broadcast. She made an appeal to the children of the Commonwealth, most of which were evacuated. She told the children that when the war is over, “for us, the children of today will be better and happier world of tomorrow.”
Throughout the war, Princess Elizabeth was knitting clothes for the poor, donated money for the purchase of cigarettes to the military and attended events and programs for children of war.

While the young Royal family was moved to Windsor castle for their safety during the war, Princess Elizabeth met regularly with the military.
In February 1945, Elizabeth joined the women’s self-defense unit, where he became a mechanic-driver. She drove ambulance and a truck.
Winston Churchill joined the Royal couple on the balcony at Buckingham Palace a few minutes later after it was declared the capitulation of Germany in world war II.
It is noted that Queen Elizabeth II doesn’t even have a passport.
A lot of people gathered at the Royal residence, in order to celebrate the end of the war.
In 1947, the Prince of Greece Philip and Elizabeth were married at Westminster Abbey in London.
In 1952, passed away Elizabeth’s father George VI. Now she is the Queen.
June 2, 1953 she was crowned in Westminster Abbey. Although she officially became Queen in 1952 after the death of George’s father, she was crowned a year later. 27 million people in the UK watched the broadcast of the coronation on TV.
The Queen and Prince Philip visited the White house in 2007 to participate in the annual state dinner, which was organized by George W. Bush and his wife Laura Bush.

In 2017 Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her 91 birthday.
After the death of Elizabeth, the throne is the eldest son of Prince Charles of Wales.
