Reducing carbon footprint is the way of innovation. 4% of the total thermal energy consumed “Baltic” in 2017, produced from biogas, which is formed on one of the stages of work of treatment facilities of sewage, and serves as an alternative source of energy. The company will gradually increase the use of green fuel at the expense of the construction of treatment facilities at three plants in Saint-Petersburg, Rostov-on-don, Novosibirsk. The total investment in this project amounted to approximately 690 million rubles in 2017. The company also aims to reduce the carbon footprint across the value chain and invests in the development of the system of separate collection and recycling of packaging waste. “Baltika”, together with partners, is developing the project “Bring favor their city”. Now the project involves approximately 7 000 containers for separate collection in 36 cities.
