Quebec Summer Festival canceled
We had suspected for a while and we had to face the facts: in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and the social distancing measures prescribed by public health authorities “for several months”, the 53rd Festival d’été de Québec (FEQ) is canceled.
With headliners like Rage Against The Machine (whose reunion was to create the event this year), Les Trois Accords, The National, Jack Johnson, Alanis Morissette or Rod Stewart, the meeting was expected from 9 to July 19, 2020. Double luck for fans of Imagine Dragons, whose performance was interrupted after two songs in the storm last summer. They were promised revenge on the Plains of Abraham. They will have to wait.
“We are very saddened by this situation, but the health of all is our priority. We support the government in its management of this unprecedented crisis and can only salute the measures deployed which will allow us to find our festival-goers, in good health, in 2021. We are dealing with unfortunate circumstances that no one could have predicted and whose consequences repercussions are felt at all levels of our organization. In addition, with its major economic spinoffs and its power to mobilize in the region, we are convinced that the FEQ will be part of the solution for reviving the economy in Quebec in the aftermath of the crisis, “said Anne Hudon, director general of the FEQ.
For festival-goers who had already purchased their pass, the organization wanted to be reassuring in a newsletter.
“You will have nothing to do: the reimbursement will be made systematically on the credit card used during the purchase, no need to contact the issuer of the latter or the ticket office. Please allow up to 30 days for processing. Please note that purchases made through your social club will be reimbursed by the latter, ”reads it.
