Search of illicit cannabis and narcotics in a residence in Lac-Beauport

A search of a Lac-Beauport residence allowed investigators from the Quebec police to seize 44 pounds of illicit cannabis in addition to other narcotics, on Thursday, March 19.

In addition to illicit cannabis, the investigators searched 750 grams of cocaine, 1,450 grams of hashish, 5,000 methamphetamine tablets and $ 138,760 in Canadian dollars at the suspect’s residence in Lac-Beauport.

After being interrogated, the two were released by summons.

“The investigation is continuing. This is being carried out as part of a concerted action implemented in the fall of 2018 by the Government of Quebec and coordinated by the Minister of Public Health, ”reports the SPVQ. “The objective of this action aims in particular to suppress the supply of illicit cannabis on the Quebec market, particularly among young people.”
