Starbucks Closes Cafes in Canada
Starbucks Canada is closing most of its branches until further notice. Only the driving service and that in establishments near hospitals will be retained.
L ori Digulla, President of Starbucks Canada, announced this decision in a letter to all partners. Despite the measures implemented by the company to promote social distancing, the risk of the virus spreading in cafes remained present. “Although we have worked very hard to exceed the requirements of public health authorities, there are still very high traffic at certain times of the day in our cafes, depending on the sector, and we must do more to prevent the spread of the virus Said Mrs. Digulla.
Some exceptions will be made for cafes located in hospitals or near health centers to continue to serve first responders and healthcare workers who are on the front line, the company said on its website.
