“As a precaution, we made the decision to postpone the relocation. A new date has not yet been set, ”he said in an email exchange with La Tribune.
“The current Sherbrooke warehouse (on King Ouest) will remain open and will continue to offer members of the Eastern Townships the excellent customer service they expect. ”
Costco will comply with Prime Minister François Legault’s slogan to close stores on Sundays in April.
The gas station in the new warehouse, located on Boulevard de Monseigneur-Fortier, remains open to members, said Damiani.
Remember that the Sherbrooke warehouse store was to be relocated to the Saint-Joseph plateau as of April 2. The new store will be much larger than the one located at the corner of King Street West and Highway 410. It will add 2,787 square meters (30,000 square feet), for a total of 11,705 square meters (126,000 feet). squares). There will be 100 more parking spaces, or nearly 800.
Costco is to provide work for 80 more people for store operations. In total, the new large area will employ 340 workers.
The warehouse store’s gasoline outlet has been in operation since the end of January.
