Thirsty thief caught in the act
A thirty-something man who believed he had cheated the staff of a grocery store ended up with handcuffs on his wrists, Monday morning.
The individual, who was traveling with two other men at the IGA Gazaille on Denison Street West in Granby, caught the eye of an undercover investigator.
The suspect went to the fridge area and hid beers worth sixty dollars under his clothes. Witness to the scene, the investigator waited for him when he left the grocery store and placed him under arrest. The 35-year-old Granbyen is known to the police. He faces a charge of theft.
The police recall that they have intensified their presence since the start of the pandemic, both on the road and in public places and shops.
