Vegetables of the onion genus, which also includes garlic, leeks and shallots reduce the likelihood of bowel cancer.
To such conclusion researchers from the First hospital, China medical University after studied the dietary habits of 1,600 men and women, reports the Daily Mail.
The study showed that the likelihood of developing bowel cancer among fans of onions for 79 % lower.

The study compared the health and diets of 833 patients with bowel cancer with the same number of healthy people in the control group, using a questionnaire on frequency of eating.
Dr. Lee noted that the cooking method also affects. For example, boiling onions reduces the amount of useful chemicals, and the cutting and crushing of fresh garlic is beneficial.

Meanwhile, the experts from Utrecht University propose to treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) with hypnosis.
The doctors analyzed data of 354 people aged 18 to 65 years with irritable bowel syndrome. Participants were divided into three groups: the first (150) attended a 45-minute hypnotherapy sessions twice a week for Crescent; the second (150) — group sessions; and the third educational seminars on IBS.
