61-year-old Matthew Lindsay from London, miraculously survived during act of terrorism in Sri Lanka. He told how he tried to save in the terrible tragedy of their children, but to no avail.
As you know, on the night of 21 April, there was a series of explosions in churches and hotels of Sri Lanka. Terrorists continued mass murder in the morning: on Easter island was rocked by eight explosions, and another on Monday, April 22. At the moment the number of victims of the terrible tragedy reached 359 people, another 520 wounded.
Easter Sunday Matthew along with 15-year-old daughter and 19-year-old son Daniel was in Shangri-La hotel in Colombo. The family quietly ate Breakfast in the restaurant of the hotel, when the bombers decided to bring to life his bloody plan. Explosion, shrapnel grazed a son and a daughter Lindsay. Then, the shocked father had to get up before a choice whom of the children he will have to save.
Matthew said that in the first place decided to assess the condition of each child. He ran to the son, who looked worse and tried to bring him down, but to no avail. Killed grief-stricken father had to make the most difficult choice in his life: to leave the dying daughter, to take her son to the hospital. The woman, who was near, promised to take care of the baby.
“My son looked worse than daughter. I tried to bring it into consciousness <…> One of the women said that I would look after my daughter. I took the boy and an ambulance took him to the hospital. I screamed, “Please help my son…” – said Lindsay.
When he returned, he was told that the passenger seat died. Later, in hospital died, and the son of the British.
